We built SimplyPray to be a private place for prayer. Here is a plain-English account of what data we collect, what we do not collect, and why.

The short version: Your prayers and journal entries stay on your device — we never see them. We collect your email address to create your account, and subscription status to grant access to paid features. We do not run ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not use any third-party tracking or analytics SDK.

No iCloud sync is active at launch. Your private prayer data is local to the device you installed the app on.
Prayer requests, confession prompts, thanksgiving entries, journal notes, and answered-prayer records are stored exclusively in SwiftData on your iPhone. We have no server-side copy of this content. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
The app works fully offline. No background sync occurs while the app is running.
When you create an account, your email address and a hashed password are stored in Supabase (our authentication provider). We store the minimum needed to let you sign in and manage your subscription.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (tap the account icon → Delete Account). Doing so permanently deletes your account record and any server-side data associated with it via the delete_account Supabase function. There is no waiting period.
SimplyPray includes an opt-in shared-list feature (church groups, family prayer lists, etc.). Only content you explicitly post to a shared list is stored on our servers. This is strictly opt-in — your private prayer data is never affected. Shared-list content is protected by row-level security in Supabase so only members of your group can read it.

We store subscription status (active, cancelled, tier) to determine which features you can access. We do not store card numbers, CVVs, or full billing addresses.
SimplyPray does not use advertising or third-party tracking of any kind.
We send transactional emails to the address on your account. These include:
These emails are sent from no-reply@simplypray.io via Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). We do not send marketing or promotional emails without your explicit consent.
This marketing site (simplypray.io) is static HTML with no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies. It does not set any cookies in your browser.
The web app at app.simplypray.io uses essential cookies required for authentication. Specifically, Supabase stores a session token in your browser so you stay signed in. These cookies are necessary for the app to function and are not used for advertising or tracking purposes.
We use the following services to operate SimplyPray. Each acts as a data processor under our instructions and is bound by appropriate data-handling terms.

We do not sell your data to any of these processors or to any other party. They are used solely to provide the service.
We retain your account data (email, user ID, subscription status) for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, server-side data is permanently deleted.
On-device data (prayers, journal, usage events) is deleted when you delete the app, or when you clear app data on your device.
Local usage-event records are automatically pruned after 90 days by the app.
SimplyPray is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us their information, contact us at the address below.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify you by email. Continued use of SimplyPray after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
